USA's Prabhupada Village Becomes ISKCON Affiliate

By Karnamrita Dasa on 6 Jun 2009

On May 21, 2009 the Board of Directors of Prabhupada Village (Sandy Ridge, North Carolina) decided to affiliate with ISKCON, thereby joining the greater communities of ISKCON temples throughout the world. Tamohara Dasa was selected as the GBC representative.

Because of reluctance on the part of some community members to legally join ISKCON, in the mood of compromise and harmony, it was decided by the Board to retain the original Temple of the Holy Name incorporation, while working more closely with ISKCON.

Although there will be few initial external differences, many community members hope that more senior devotees will visit Prabhupada village, and that other devotees may be inspired to move there who want to live and serve under the banner of ISKCON.

I live on the eastern coast of North Carolina--do they welcome visitors there?
